Aldi Süd MDs Change in Switzerland and Greece
Aldi Süd has appointed Günther Helm as a new Managing Director for Switzerland, starting from 1 October 2009.
- Günther Helm replaced Roman Heini and additionally, he takes a seat on the board as Vice President.
- Helm, earlier held the MD position for Aldi Süd in Greece, where he was replaced by Emmanouil Hristodoulou.
- Helm will lead Aldi’s expansion in Switzerland with plans to increase its store portfolio from currently 105 outlets in 21 cantons to 130 by year end and around 200 in the medium term.
- In Greece, Aldi started operations in November 2008, with currently 31 outlets nationwide, with plans to open five more new stores by the end of the year. The long term plan is to open 300 stores and three to four distribution centres in the market over the next decade.
