03 Nov 2009 —  Best Buy Embraces Digital Content Delivery

Best Buy has announced that in coordination with CinemaNow, it is planning on enabling much of the "web connected devices" it sells to carry software that enables users to download content onto their devices. This means that users of capable TVs, DVD, or Blu-ray players will be able to download a digital copy of a movie the same day it is released in hard copy.

This follows in the footsteps of Netflix, which has had a very successful strategy of delivering digital streaming content.
