19 Mar 2010 —  The Home Depot Implements Spring Black Friday

Home improvement retailer The Home Depot has come out with "door buster" deals during the upcoming weekend, calling it the Spring Black Friday.

• Craig Menear, Executive Vice President for Merchandising, stated that the spring season is the most hectic period of business for the retailer. The Spring Black Friday weekend will mark the commencement of the active shopping season in home improvement activities.

• The Spring Black Friday will be implemented on a market-by-market basis based on climate by geography. The deals, initially offered in the (warmer) southern and western states from March 18, will be offered in the (colder) northern states subsequently.

"Spring is our Christmas," said Craig Menear. "Traffic in our stores is at its highest during the spring season, as customers look to take on outdoor projects to improve the appearance of their homes, and we want to give them the best deals possible to meet all of their outdoor needs."
